i needed to take some photos for my agency this weekend. then while editing them i had a little fun with some of my illustrations.
i’m back! and tired….
i saw a lot of things. took way too many pictures.
decided that prague was the best and am booking a ticket to go back in november.
i ate frog legs and squid ink. jumped in a freezing switzerland lake and was bit by a swan.
and i got some holy water from the vatican.
i’ll be back to a regular illustration schedule soon.
here are some pictures before we get back to drawing.
just a few more photos form paris. a few of these were taken by fred. guess which ones! (hint: he is a much better photographer than me. much much better.)
pretty apartments.
le tower.
pretty things.
cafe afternoons. (this one my mom took!)
paris rain walking.
streets.
it is cold in amsterdam. so cold that the canals have frozen over for the first time in years. i was told since 1997.
so of course we went ice walking.
more pictures here!
this weekend fred and i decided to do something new. so we made some photo gifs. it was mostly fred. he is the computer smart one.
it was really cold, so we didn’t experiment as much as we wanted. but i guess that is what spring will be for. and once we invent a nice camera rig we can do more action filled ones.
and yea, trying to do this with a super hyper dog was a silly idea. but we will get better at this.
my favorite camera i have is my tiny novelty cat camera. pictured here:
since there is no view finder it’s always very experimental. which makes for more fun. i took a few fun ones this week.
i especially love the wavy houses. i have no idea how that happened. just the magic of cat camera i suppose.
window garden
my parents gave us a apartment warming gift of little baby succulents. cacti being one of the few plants i don’t kill, i’m very excited. this now brings the window garden to 5 succulents, strawberry seedlings, an avocado seed and mint. but the mint is half dead. all gaurded by the garden keeper moonman.
metal heart
i got a letter from melissa with this little metal heart she made inside of it. i sewed it to the psycho killer angel puppets wing for safe keeping.
a western bar
my parents also brought some bar paraphernalia that i either left in america or can’t get here. most notably multiple bourbons. having a well stocked bar is a very important thing.we made some mint juleps with the aforementioned dying mint. and of course. old fashioneds!!
go games
fred bought the game ‘go’. which we attempted to figure out how to play on our own since it did not come with directions. i’m sure we’ll get it one day.
haberdashery uniforms
in love with this hat. and striped shirts. here is my spring uniform.
my parents came into town this past week, which is the reason for my radio silence. we went over to keukenhof on a sunny day to check out the tulips. basically this place is a giant park/tulip farm where you can wander around and look at thousands and thousands of flowers. then take a wine pit-stop, and then look at more flowers. you have to like flowers in order to do this. it was very beautiful and the air smelled like…. flowers. if you are ever in holland in the spring. i recommend a tulip farm.
i won’t over whelm you with gobs of flower photographs. but here are a few.
now the fields of tulips.
and of course. a herring and pink wine picnic.
(i just love mini bottles of wine. i want to stock my whole refrigerator up with them.)
